[Sakura hits the journals up in the morning, relatively early; she's in a cheerful, energetic mood this morning, and feels the need to do some playing today.]

So! We got all that snow yesterday. I think it's time to have a little fun!

What does everyone think of a grand mass snowball fight? I'm talking ninja-style, very few holds barred, get 'em however you can! [Pause.] Try to avoid actually causing serious bodily harm, though. The point is to have fun. But other than that, go for it!

The whole village is fair game, but let's at least get started... hm, just to the south, I think. Plenty of space for fun, and we can spread from there!


[Action - Same day, all day]

[Sakura's out there, wrapped up warm and ready for action. It's a beautiful day for shenanigans and she's got more than a few in mind!]

There's only one rule. Make me do any actual work, and I will destroy you! [Translation: hurt someone and she'll hurt you.

She may also be starting some snow fortifications. Nothing like having the upper hand!]

[Sasuke missed the memo. He hasn't really built checking the journal into his morning routine and habits yet, and he thinks the thing is unsecure and a bit stupid anyway.]

[So when he walks out of his apartment building modestly bundled up - closed shoes, scarf, gloves and jacket, but no hat or waterproof anything at all - it's on his way for groceries, not because he intends to participate in anything... juvenile.]

Sakura catches sight of him, and something sparks in her. Sasuke's back with them, he's reformed, and you know what? He needs to be part of the team again.

Which means shenanigans. Which means a snowball flying for the back of his head.

She's being nice; it's loosely packed, shedding a comet-trail of glittering flakes as it soars through the air.

[ What's this? A snowball fight? And Sasuke is completely, unwittingly, unguarded at the moment?

Why, that sure is a snowball flying straight at Sasuke's head from seemingly out of nowhere. ]

[Naruto had been around to see Sasuke get hit by snowballs and not actually try to stab anyone wow what is this.

Naturally he wants in on the fun, so there are two Naruto's rushing towards him (behind him), snowballs in hand and ready to launch their attack.

Of course it is a trick- hoping he will turn around to face them so the third (and real) Naruto can make use of the little pile of snowballs he has gathered off towards Sasuke's side.]

[Well, by the time Riku bumps into Sasuke, the fight's already going strong. Sure, he feels a bit silly getting involved still, and given Sasuke's attitude, this could be a death wish...

But, heck. Looks like he's already in on the fun so, after scooping up a handful of snow, he vasts Vanish on himself and hurls the snowball toward Sasuke's back.

Don't worry; he didn't fling it too hard, but sadly Sasuke has to deal with yet another doofus using invisibility.

...Too bad that cover's kind of blown by the shrieking, smiling bat hovering in the general area.]

[Tenten has taken Sakura's challenge for what it is -- a challenge.

She's not bothering with something as rudimentary as a snow fort, though, instead perching up high in a tree, bundled up in a thick cloak and fingerless gloves. She's made herself a stash of snowballs perched atop one of the bare branches, and is currently sniping any ninja -- or friend -- as soon as they're close enough to see.

One hundred shots throws, one hundred bulls-eyes. Hope you like being splattered with snow from several dozen feet away.]

[ The thing about being high up, though, is that you're trading range advantage for stealth - without any leaves in those trees, Tenten is clearly visible.

To get a snowball up that high, of course, you'd have to throw it with real power, and to do that without the snowball falling apart, you have to pack it very tightly. So it's more of an ice ball, really, which means you have to be careful not to aim for the face, because nailing someone in the eye with a ball of ice is a dick move.

Lea knows all of this technical information because Lea is a master of the non-bladed hand projectile weapon. So when he keeps his hair hidden under a hood for long enough to get within forty-five meters of Tenten's tree, and then suddenly stands up and side-arms a dense, icy snowball at her left shoulder, he does so without the slightest misgiving that he might not hit his target. ]

[Okay, so Neji's just a little curious about the snowball fight -- enough to spectate, although he's not planning to join in.

How much does Tenten care about little details like that, though?]

Having failed to notice Sakura's announcement over the journals, Chouji is on his way home from Seventh Heaven when he is assailed by the incredibly accurate barrage of snow.

He shakes it off and leaps behind a tree for cover, looking up into the branches of other trees nearby. It definitely came from above. He chuckles and calls out, "I should've known. Tenten, I think you have the advantage in a snowball fight." Then again, snow is the least painful weapon by far in Tenten's possible arsenal. No harm in a friendly snow spar. She may not remember the last time she was here, but she gave him a bo and tips for using it, so he owes her a spar anyway.

Chouji grins and scoops up a handful of snow, lobbing it in her direction. Any self-respecting ninja has decent aim, even if Chouji isn't on Tenten's level. He fully expects her to dodge; it's more of an invitation than an attack.

[A slow moving target approaches from the north, munching on one of dozens of rolls from the bakery. Now Ilyana was down to the very last one, and thought she might go see what all the commotion was about. She remembered the water balloon fight quite some time ago, and figured that a snowball fight would have to be somewhat similar.

What she hadn't counted on was that the game was already afoot, and that there was someone high above her head in the tree tops sniping would be contestants. So reaching down to grab a handful of snow to make into a snowball might not have been Ilyana's wisest move at that moment, since it likely meant she was fair game.]

Because it's just a clone, and the real Naruto is trying to be oh-so-sneaky as he climbs up the tree behind her.]

[ That sounds a bit above her skill level, and at any rate, it's been years since she's tried to make a snowball. ]

Well, I'm not so good at that sort of thing, but if anyone wants hot chocolate when it's through, perhaps I can set that up? Everyone should take care not to get too cold.

Yuffie can't help but make quite a few snow-shurikens while she's on her way. (Only with enough ice to keep them in that shape.) When she arrives, she finds a nice place up in one of those trees, and wait's until someone get's close enough. Hopefully she's hidden well enough with the snow, though her cloak is off-white, and she has a hood on, just in case she really nails someone in the eye...

She's going for head-shots though, be warned!]

Luffy is barely rolling out of the way of one of those before looking around to see where the attack is coming from! Since this is a ninja party he's wearing a scarf around his face, but it's probably not quite the ninja look he is hoping it gives off.]

[Aang will see your ninja style and raise you some bender style! For the most part he does at least make and throw snowballs by hand. He likes to play fair, after all, and he also throws as softly as he can. But when it comes to dodging, he will often employ an airbending flourish. He's quick on his feet and great at avoiding blows. Especially because he doesn't lose his cool - he just has fun the whole time.

You may also find him using this trick to avoid fire, in which he makes it look like he's set up snow armor for himself when he's actually hiding elsewhere in the snow - waiting to strike!

Oh and general notes? Aang is currently 15 and for this occasion is wearing Earth-y clothes - some simple slacks and a winter jacket as well as a wool cap that covers most of his bald head. The tip of his arrow still peeks through from under it, however.]

[Kushina just thinks that snow armor is a snowman Aang made as a decoy so she doesn't pay any mind to it (other than a suspicious glance), especially if it's not moving.

She attempts sneaking by and hiding around it, looking for her own target and snowballs shoved in pockets and in her arms.

[Naruto got Sakura's message and thought there was no better way than to spend the day. It would be fun!

Of course he is taking this super seriously (when he isn't laughing his ass off because it is fun) so if you happen to pass through the area, beware of the ninja hidden behind the tree because you are a target whether you are actually playing or not.

And there's a snowball flying towards the back of your head in 3..2..1...]

[Ah, but what about the ninja creeping up on the ninja?

Naruto, you've got incoming on your six o'clock. Ready and armed with a snowball barrage.

And just as he's about to go after a helpless passerby... that's when she'll strike.]

[So moms USUALLY don't get in the middle of snow fights -- they're there to offer warm drinks and blankets and a place to bundle up and get rid of the chill.

But when has Kushina ever followed social norms like that? And she's not going easy on anybody either. She's as bundled up as anybody (maybe more so) and has a few snowballs in her hand as she darts about, grinning brightly.

When she finds someone:]

Hey! Heads up!

[Kushina tosses a snowball high into the air as a faux, and if your person looks up at it, she'll take the opportunity to hit you with her another snowball while you're busy watching the one in the sky.

And she will do this to everyone she sees until it doesn't work. It's a good strategy.

Later, you can find her making a snow fort!]

[Kushina is an awesome mom!

Sakura glances at the high ball, but only for a moment; it's too obvious it isn't aimed, and she is a ninja, ready for sneaky tricks.

Which, of course, means that she uses her dive out of the way of the real throw as an opportunity to gather one of her own and come up 'shooting.']

Hah! Gotta get up earlier than that to fool me!

[Sometime later Luffy is going to be joining in on this. And he's going to start by building an ARMY OF SNOWMEN FOR BACK UP. Okay. Well actually it's more like three or four. BUT THEIR THERE SON. And they are ready to wreck anyone who dares mess with Luffy. Equipped with round, stationary bodies and literal stick arms, they are a force to be reckoned with.

After they are all set up in a triangle formation Luffy is going to throw up his arms and laugh in glee. Victory is assured! Oh, he also has a scarf wrapped around his face too. Since he's a ninja. But it might not be quite the ninja-esque look he was going for. Infact, it's fairly fashionable.]

YOOOSH! SNOW ARMY COMPLETE!

[Ilyana happened to come upon Luffy just as he finished with his 'snow army' and was admittedly, not in the slightest bit afraid.]

Is that what you call it when you make more than one snowman?

[She then spots the fact that he's wearing the scarf around his face like a ninja... which means maybe he's in on this snowball fight. So she stands in front of one of his snow warriors, stealthily stealing some of the snow from its stomach to make a snowball... just in case.]

[Ilyana set up a pitfall trap, using the lightest fluffiest snow she could find, to make it so that the target would just fall through it until they were neck deep in fluffy snow. Of course... the only problem with a pitfall trap was tricking someone to step on it... and that's where a little creative thinking went into Ilyana's trap.

In front of the trap was a wall of snow, making a solid snow-fort for any would be assailants. Next to it was a pile of snowballs, packed perfectly for throwing, and just waiting for action. Had the hostess of this snowball fight made several forts for people to use? Was this somebody else's fort that her prey stumbled upon and would hope to make use of? Or perhaps they'd think it was just too perfect? Well she was hoping that the couple of snowballs missing from the pile, and a few well thrown snowballs at the front of the fort would help to alleviate that concern.

All the while Ilyana sat and waited with a pile of snacks in the middle of a bush, waiting to see who would spring her trap.]

[Guess who's clever enough to just assume it's an abandoned post ripe for the picking?

... yeah, this flame-haired guy and his monkey with the matching 'do.

He walks right into it, sinking like a bag of bricks leaving only his snow-splattered face sticking out (ah, a good chunk of his head wound up under the snow too, he isn't too tall yet). The little monkey's hopped off his head and landed a safe distance away on the fort.]

[ A snowball fight isn't exactly something that ninja from Konoha have the opportunity to participate in all that much, especially given Konoha's usual year-round temperate weather. And even though Kakashi's thirty-one, he still sees no reason why he can't also have a little fun and troll the living shit out of his students throw around some snowballs.

He waits in hiding, careful to mask his chakra, until Sakura isn't looking, and then proceeds to throw three tightly packed snowballs at her simultaneously. All of them travel in a different trajectory.

Throwing snowballs isn't all that different from throwing smoke bombs, after all. They're round and small. ]

[ Kakashi spends most of the time hiding in the snow and amongst the trees, randomly chucking snowballs out of nowhere at everyone. Sometimes it's not just one snowball, but a number in quick succession or a simultaneous deployment. Other times, he takes advantage of tree branches being covered in snow. If you're standing under one, you might get a ton of snow dumped on you.

[Chili is halfway cheating by just having his little fire-breathing monkey melt the snowballs before they hit him, while he walks around leisurely rolling up snowballs and chewing on candy canes. Hey, he's not breaking any rules!

After melting the whole rapid fire snow-ball-succession, he's gonna try to retaliate! His aim might be crap, but he can throw far!]

Oh man, doesn't this happen like, every year now or something? Not that Norma's complaining one bit - it makes the winter more bearable and even fun! It's always a great activity beaning someone in the face with a handful of snow and then warming up with a fireplace and some hot cocoa or something. Beaming into her journal's viewfinder, Norma's already holding up her jacket and boots.]

Alright, count me in! No injuries, sure, sure, but there's no rules about using some er--uh, I mean, magic, is there? Anything goes, right?

Making her way swiftly to the area where the snow war is going down, Norma immediately gets into the competitive spirit. There's snow flying every which way and people slipping and sliding over snow and ice and it's just so picturesque. She bounces with excitement before scooping up a handful of snow and flinging it at the first unwitting victim she sees. This is definitely the kind of thing her new coat and boots were made for! Free movement while keeping her nice and toasty. This is the best way to break them in!]

Hahhaa, in-coming! Better watch out, suckers!

[SPLAT! Ilyana took a snowball right to the back of the head, sending her careening face first into the snow. She really needed to learn not to think about food too much in the middle of snowball fights, it made her positively defenseless. Could she help it that snow reminded her of snowcones though?

Well now that she was down anyways, she was going to see if her surprise attack strategy could come into play. Play dead, and when the perpetrator of the snowball throwing came to check on her to see if she was okay, *whamo!* surprise snowball attack!]

Ohhhh...

[If only she wasn't so hungry at the same time.]

[After her tiring mission, and after her traumatizing arrival, Ino's really not in the mood to have snowball fights with anyone. But she comes to the place anyway because she wants to see who gets swamped with snowballs.

Dressed in a well thought of winter outfit complete with earmuffs and a white scarf, Ino keeps her distance with a smile.]

You guys are all children.

[You think she's unguarded WELL THINK AGAIN. Think twice before landing one on this girl.]

Oh it's just Naruto. Two Naruto's in fact, both hurling a snowball towards her~]

[Lee comes late in the day - and it's clear what he spend most of the time on. It's a large snow boulder that he's balancing himself atop.]

Please... Mark the occasion in your calender! For the time is now...

THE WINTERTIME OF YOUTH!

[And with that, he runs on the boulder to make it propel downward, ready to snow-bulldoze any in his way. Well, at least for most people he'll settle for just lightly bumping them with his monstrosity.]

But after a moment (after she gets to safety; goodbye snow fort) it turns into laughing. She can't say it's not a snowball, after all!]

Lee, that's a monster!

[At this point, Bulla is wary of potential incoming snowballs and she's prepared a small arsenal of snowballs. Fortunately, she's taken care to ensure there's nothing hard in them. No ice, or random pebbles mixed in. Just squishy, chilly snow.

She spots an unsuspecting target and lobs a snowball in their direction.]

[One of the perks of being a Keyblade Master? Magic, and while RIku is far from a ninja, he does know one spell that's always useful in these kind of games.

Namely, he knows Vanish, a spell that renders him invisible. Thus, participants may find snow flying at them from various directions. He feels a bit silly joining in on the fun, but dang it, even Keyblade Masters have to cut loose every once in a while.

The downside? Vanish does not last forever, and there'll be pauses where he's completely and utterly visible. Probably the perfect time to strike.]
