[Video - Friday morning 12/6]

[Sakura hits the journals up in the morning, relatively early; she's in a cheerful, energetic mood this morning, and feels the need to do some playing today.]

So! We got all that snow yesterday. I think it's time to have a little fun!

What does everyone think of a grand mass snowball fight? I'm talking ninja-style, very few holds barred, get 'em however you can! [Pause.] Try to avoid actually causing serious bodily harm, though. The point is to have fun. But other than that, go for it!

The whole village is fair game, but let's at least get started... hm, just to the south, I think. Plenty of space for fun, and we can spread from there!


[Action - Same day, all day]

[Sakura's out there, wrapped up warm and ready for action. It's a beautiful day for shenanigans and she's got more than a few in mind!]

There's only one rule. Make me do any actual work, and I will destroy you! [Translation: hurt someone and she'll hurt you.

She may also be starting some snow fortifications. Nothing like having the upper hand!]

[Good lord, speaking of being predictable... whatever though, that's fine. Sasuke's not exactly gonna shy away from close-range, and he leans low into his sprint to dip his gloved fingers in the snow as he goes, packing it easily into a wet, slushy ball. He's got the clone in his periphery, but for now he's all for meeting this Naruto head-to-head - and possibly burying a handful of slush in his hair.]

[(And if not, there's a quiet, near-invisible well of chakra gathering in his palm.)]

[Naruto is all for meeting head on. In fact it is his focus right now, sprinting forward towards Sasuke, snowball gripped and ready to be used at any moment.

However, oblivious to any plans Sasuke may be forming, it isn't just snow as there may be a little chakra melded in there just to pack a bit more of a punch. After so many years of forming Rasengans it's easy, so maybe there is a little more chakra there than needs to be.

[The chakra beating in Sasuke's palm isn't quite a chidori - no lightning chakra, he doesn't need to do any real damage with this (and besides Sakura would skin him if he tried) - but it's the same idea, the same pump of chakra easing its way out of his palm like second nature with no need for hand signs.]

[He's within feet of the other, the last moments of striking range, when his gaze catches the smallest flicker of Naruto's chakra peeking around the edges of the snowball, and he twists at the last possible instant, so instead of both of them getting facefuls of snow (and chakra like a punch to the head), they strike palm-to-palm, snowball to snowball, and their chakra bleeds through to collide in the center, blowing snow out in a powder bomb like fine mist. Their chakras hit like oil and water and then spark like flint and steel - and burst. It's half an instant before Sasuke realizes he's flying backward - and the next, he's sailed ass-first into a snowbank.]

[They were just about to hit each other when Sasuke shifted. Naruto's first thought was that he was dodging at the last minute and dammit, he probably can't turn quick enough to get him again.

Of course any worry over that is lost as soon as the two snowballs smack into each other and there's a split second of confusion as snow is blown into the air and into his face...

...and there he goes, sailing backwards through the air and landing in a huge pile of snow. It's cold and wet and smacking into the ground like that also hurt a bit, but he just lies there for a second because what.]

[It takes Sasuke a second to reorient himself. Sure yeah, he was in fight-mode - but he was in sparring mode, not life-and-death struggle mode, and this is a little beyond what he was expecting. Apparently they both overdid it a bit with that hit.]

[After a beat or three he pushes himself up, awkwardly, half-folded into the bank. He's more pulling himself out of a hole with his hands than he is sitting up, and he looks across the way... to see Naruto basically just as fucked by that as he is.]

[That makes this a little less insulting. A little better.]

[...Kind of ridiculous, as it catches up to him that they've made this out of a snowball fight. Everyone around them is just flinging snow and they've blasted each other a few dozen feet across the field. He can't help it.]

[He starts laughing.]

[It's quiet, and it doesn't really carry, but he just kind of lets go of the bank for a minute to flop back into the hole and chuckle half under his panting breath.]

[If it hadn't been for the Valley, he probably wouldn't even be thinking of it like this. This is normal for them. This is how shinobi do things. But with memories of how things were like when chakra wasn't even a thought... this really is overblown enough to be funny.]

[Due to the angle he ended up hitting the snow at, flailing legs are all that can be seen on top of the white mound until Naruto finally manages to pull himself out of it and sit up.]

[He doesn't stand up yet, instead glancing over to where he saw Sasuke fly off to. The other ninja is still on the ground, but doesn't look as though he is fixing to come over and yell at him or something, which is good.]

[And then a sudden thought in his head causes him to turn his head from side to side searching for Sakura because years have taught him that ridiculous overreactions usually end up being dealt with one of her fists meeting the top of his head, but it looks like the coast is clear.]

[Up on his feet now, brushing snow from his clothes, he takes another look at the damage they caused. It was kind of ridiculous, how far they had ended up being thrown. They had picked up a bit of audience with that stunt, unsurprisingly, causing Naruto to chuckle nervously as he brushed snow from his hair and sort of half-jogged over towards the other snow bank.]

Yo, Sasuke!

[For some reason the closer he got, the funnier the whole thing seemed to be.]

[By the time Naruto gets over to where Sasuke is, the brunet is laughing outright. It's not loud, but it's kind of a belly-laugh all the same. He can see a couple incredulous people edging closer to peek at them both - civilians, most likely, so probably to make sure he and Naruto aren't dead. And that sort of makes it funnier.]

[He manages to hook his hand in the bank again by the time Naruto calls out, trying to haul himself up. He's almost laughing too hard.]

[By the time he's stood over Sasuke's little snow pit he's laughing outright, which only increases once it clicks that Sasuke is laughing too.

The shocked expressions from onlookers don't help either- they look worried that someone might have just been murdered by snow and it is just so ridiculous considering the number of times one of them has tried to outright hurt the other that it's almost too much, and he ends up dropping back down into the snow, sitting there and letting it all out.]

Haha oh man! That was hilarious!
