[Sakura opens the journal and contemplates it for several moments before she hits 'record.' She's been trying to decide whether to say anything at all, whether she really wants to mark this particular occasion. But it seems like -- well, why not? Maybe it will help whet her determination to return home. Maybe... maybe it'll mean something.
Finally, she keys for the video and clears her throat.]
It's been a year since I came here. A little more now, I guess. I've been thinking about it for a while -- it just feels really odd to think that I've spent a whole year of my life with everything on pause while I'm here. As much as it's nice not to be in the middle of a war zone...
Well. At least I've got friends here. It would be worse if I were alone.
Anyone want to go for some drinks tonight? I think I could use a little something.
[Taking after her mentor, maybe. But for tonight, Sakura can't fault Tsunade's usual escape. There's nothing she can do about being here, no way to forget about what's going on at home -- so she'll try to distract herself as best she can.]
[Action]
[True to words, Sakura heads down to Seventh Heaven as the sun sets, wrapped in a warm coat against the winter, which she sheds as soon as she gets there. Whether or not anyone's coming to join her, she's planning to drink herself into forgetfulness tonight.]

[ Voice]
[ Is this stepping on Shikamaru's territory?
...
...
Well fuck him ]
[ Voice]
Well, come on and join me, then! Drinks for all, that's what I say. We're all stuck in a bubble, we're going to do whatever the hell we want.
[ Voice]
Okay, deal. I'll even meet you in the lobby.
[ Or just out the door. Same building. Though maybe she wasn't, who knows ]
[ Voice]
[She meets him at the door, her smile belied by the determined and slightly forced look in her eyes. As much as she wants to pretend this is just a fun evening, it's not; she's so angry at being trapped here and manipulated, and running out of ways to deal with it. There's desperation behind this.]
[ Voice]
[Action]
Hey, Masaomi. I'm glad you're coming.
[Action]
[ Oh well, let's go and get in step with her to said party, grinning at this [

[She falls into step with him, though, clasping her hands lightly behind her.]

... Are you asking me to get you drunk? [Is this what she's hearing? It sounds like that's what she's hearing.]

[ And he snickers before his jokes are hilarious. Clearly ]

[Maybe she'd get it if she came from a world with cars oops.]

Designated Driver, the DD. Where I'm from, it's illegal to drive when you're shitfaced, so it's common enough practice to have someone around to drive you when you're going to to do it. Or at least it is in cities which aren't Tokyo, because honestly you can ride public transportation most of the time there.

[Ah, but there you are wrong; she's apped from the manga, where no such abominations exist. What is this 'movie' you speak of?
Either way, it takes her a minute, but then she digs back into the memories of the Valley, of that other life, and that supplies the missing pieces of what he's talking about.]
Oh. Well, I suppose that's a reasonably sensible way to handle the whole thing. People go that far just to drink in your world?
[When you're a ninja who travels everywhere on foot...]
